"As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world." John 15:19 NIVHow marvelous it is to be chosen!
The lovely prom queen turned beautiful bride her face brightly beaming
She's married her young charming beau she wasn't simply dreaming!
She's married her young charming beau she wasn't simply dreaming!
Soon arrived two small girls; their family's growing, now they are four
Oh how she loved her little clan; the young man, from life, he wanted much more.
He was through
No more married life, sweet young wife and girls not yet the age of two.
Lost, wounded humiliated; tread deep in rough waters
The young mother moved back home, she with her two precious daughters.
Enters a good man...a few years older than she
He'd served in the Navy and had a degree.
Helping her dad work on his car he fell in love with the young mom, he fell in love with the three.
"I'm gonna marry that young lady, make her a home;
I'm gonna raise those two little girls--make them my own."
That's just what he did: resolved and faithful and doing his best
In time two more children were born into their homey nest.
For years the young father scrimped and saved every rare extra dime,
"I want to adopt our two older girls; I want to make them mine."
Two little girls, six and seven, sat before a judge; behind a closed door.
Simple words they spoke of their family, their home, their daddy; tender hearts did out-pour.
Acceptance of a father's abundant love they now belong to him.
Security, safety, no one can make a claim; no one can take them away.
A godly father, he reared his children, taught them right from wrong, disciplined when needed, loved always, supported, provided and sacrificed for each one.
The father's great love would bear all things; a love bigger than the heartache, hurts, disappointments; things that this life sometimes brings.

Through the years I've come to know and see that he was the dad he didn't have to be.
Just how much my daddy loved and still loves the lovely young prom queen, my mom, and yes, her two older girls--my sister and me!
Thank you, daddy
How wonderful it is to be adopted!
All who have put their faith and trust in God's only beloved Son, Jesus Christ, also have been adopted! A heavenly Father...safely and securely adopted into the amazing Family of God!

"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angles nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:38-39
"For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry Abba, Father. The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God. And if children, then heirs, heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ." Romans 8:14-17
